Tavrida Reclosers PBA/TEL in North America

This year the implementation of Tavrida Electric reclosers on the North American continent continued. To begin with, we should mention new automation solutions that were presented at one of the reputable U.S. exhibitions - DistribuTech in San Diego, and that were well received by the American customers of the company. Switching module OSM 27_Al_2 with SEL-651R control cabinet aroused great interest of the visitors. The solution was presented for the first time.

Tavrida Reclosers PBA/TEL in North America

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, LTD (SEL), the North American market leader in protection and automation, has adapted its popular SEL-651R recloser control cabinet for use with Tavrida Electric's OSM/TEL series 15kV and 27kV switching modules. It is important that the cabinet controls the recloser drive directly and receives measurement signals from built-in current and capacitive voltage sensors (i.e. fully compatible).

Thus, a minimum of components is required to put the recloser into operation: the control cabinet, the connecting cable, the switching module and the power supply. This significantly reduces the time and cost of putting the recloser into operation. In addition, it makes this solution doubly reliable, because the recloser PBA/TEL by Tavrida Electric (Europe) has shown high reliability over the years with a probability of failure of 0.1% per year, and thousands of SEL reclosers in operation have proven their popularity as a reliable and inexpensive solution for creating intelligent distribution grids (SmartGrid).

This product was a hit at the exposition and won numerous subsequent contracts. Immediately after the exhibition, the PBA/TEL reclosers with SEL control cabinet were introduced into the Mexican distribution grid.In addition to all the above advantages of the 0OSM 27_Al_2 version with SEL-651R, the customer noted another one: If the radial grid becomes a ring grid after expansion, having voltage sensors on both sides of the module eliminates the need to install additional equipment
